Walmart Plus Can Save You Hundreds! Let’s Break It Down

In 2020, Walmart unveiled Walmart Plus as their challenge to Amazon Prime. The service offers a bunch of perks to try and sway Amazon fanatics away from Prime, like next-day delivery on some items, grocery delivery, and fuel savings.

For $98/year or $12.95/month, Walmart Plus lets you plan a Walmart shopping spree without leaving the house. If you do a weekly order, this will help you save hundreds of dollars. Here’s all the math and everything you need to know.

Sign up for Walmart Plus to get free next-day and two-day shipping without minimums.

One of the biggest draws for Walmart Plus is the free one-day and two-day shipping from Walmart no matter how much is in your cart. Without Walmart Plus, you need to hit at least $35 total for free two-day shipping, so say goodbye to the days of overloading your cart to avoid a shipping fee.

Remember that this excludes oversized and freight items.

Get unlimited same-day delivery with orders of $35 or more.

Walmart Plus members get as many same-day deliveries from Walmart Grocery as they want with no extra charge. But keep in mind you still have to hit a $35 minimum for same-day grocery delivery, even with Walmart Plus.

You also get one free Express delivery with Walmart Plus, meaning everything will be at your door in two hours or less. After that, it’ll cost $10 per order. Without Walmart Plus, you’d be spending $10 on top of the $7.95-$9.95 standard delivery fee. Keep in mind you also have the option to tip at checkout or when you get the order confirmation.

If you shop a couple of times a week, you could save hundreds per year on your grocery delivery fees! (Check out the chart below.)

Members save up to $0.10 per gallon at Exxon, Mobil, Walmart, Sam’s Club & Murphy gas stations.

Walmart Plus members get access to fuel savings at more than 14,000 gas stations across 48 states. To get up to $0.10 per gallon savings every time you fill up, you’ll need to sign into your Walmart Plus account on your mobile device and have Walmart Pay set up. Here’s what you do next:

You can try Walmart Plus free for 90 days.

This super special offer may not last forever, but right now, you can try Walmart Plus free for 90 days. The best part? You don’t need a credit card to start your free trial. Once your 90 days are up, Walmart will cancel your membership unless you add a payment card to continue.

This offer excludes the “Rx for Less” benefit, which is only available to paid members. But you’ll have access to all the other great Walmart Plus perks for free.

You can sign up for your free 90-day trial right here.

The standard offer for new members is a free 15-day trial.

Without the special offer, you’ll get free shipping, unlimited grocery delivery, and other perks for 15 days with a Walmart Plus free trial.

After that, choose to pay $98 for an annual membership or $12.95 for a monthly membership; both prices are lower than what Amazon Prime charges ($119/year & $12.99/month).

Get early access to Black Friday sales at Walmart as a Walmart Plus member.

As a Walmart Plus member you can get early access — like FOUR HOURS early — to all of the Black Friday Walmart sales (called Deals for Days). But, you can’t get early access with a free trial.

Get Spotify Premium for six months free.

If you don’t already have the Spotify Premium streaming music service, Walmart Plus is going to help; new and existing paid Walmart+ subscribers get six months of Spotify Premium for free. Spotify Premium normally costs $9.99 per month, so this offer has a value of $59.94. Here’s how you get it:

Walmart Plus also offers scan and go shopping.

Walmart Plus members are able to scan products while shopping in Walmart, and then check out using Walmart Pay to avoid the checkout line for a touch-free payment experience.

Walmart says they’re going to keep adding features to the Walmart Plus subscription in the future — like reserved Pickup slots, special sales, and even a Prime Video streaming competitor. What are your favorite features? Let us know in the comments.
