Latest Prime Day news & leaks
Hi everyone — Hanna here. I’ve been hunting Prime Day deals since the very first one back in 2015, and this year’s is a little different: Amazon moved the whole thing up to June 23–26 instead of the usual mid-July. So if you’ve got a list of things you’ve been putting off — a new robot vacuum, an Echo for the kitchen, a Kindle for the grandkids’ summer reading — now is the time to start watching prices.
Here’s the thing nobody tells you: a lot of the best deals don’t wait for the official start date. Amazon and the big brands quietly drop early Prime Day deals weeks ahead, and some of them are already as low as they’ll go on the 23rd. I’ve pulled the ones worth grabbing today into the section below, and I’ll be updating this page every single day right up to Prime Day as new deals and leaks come out — so bookmark it and check back.
Below you’ll find the exact dates and start time, what’s genuinely worth buying (and what to skip and wait for Black Friday instead), how it stacks up against Black Friday and the October sale, and answers to every question I get asked. Let’s get into it.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2026?
Amazon Prime Day 2026 runs Tuesday, June 23 through Friday, June 26, 2026 — a four-day event. The sale officially kicks off at 12:01 a.m. PT (that’s 3:01 a.m. ET) on Tuesday, June 23, and runs through the end of Friday, June 26.
If June feels early to you, you’re right. Prime Day is usually held in July — the last time it ran in June was back in 2021. Amazon moved it up this year to get ahead of a crowded summer: the FIFA World Cup runs mid-June into July, and July 4th is America’s big 250th-anniversary weekend. Amazon decided the week of June 22 was the cleanest window.
Is Prime Day 2026 two days or four days?
Four days. Amazon expanded Prime Day from the old two-day format to four days in 2025, and they’ve kept the longer event for 2026. More time to shop — but the very best doorbuster and Lightning Deals still tend to land on day one (June 23) and sell out fast, so don’t assume you can wait until Friday.
Early Prime Day deals you can grab right now
You do not have to wait until June 23. Amazon has already turned on a wave of early Prime Day deals, and the big brands are running their own sales alongside. A few that caught my eye this week:
- Amazon devices — up to 60–65% off Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, Ring, Blink and eero, with some devices starting at just $14.99. Many of these early device deals are open to everyone, not just Prime members.
- Apple — AirPods Pro 3 have dipped to around $199, and the latest MacBook Air has been spotted near $949.
- Everyday brands — Stanley tumblers, Hanes basics, Shark vacuums and fans, Crest Whitestrips and more are already marked down 25–55%.
- Amazon Resale — an extra 20% off select open-box and used items, applied automatically at checkout (no code needed). A great way to save on top of an already-reduced price.
The live picks below refresh daily — every one is a real, in-stock deal from a brand we trust, and the price you see is the price I checked this morning. If a deal has a promo code, just click through and the code copies to your clipboard automatically; paste it at Amazon checkout.

What to buy on Prime Day 2026 (and what to skip)
After a decade of these sales, I can tell you Prime Day is fantastic for some things and a waste of time for others. Here’s where the real savings are:
What to skip on Prime Day (wait for Black Friday)
Not everything is cheapest in June. These are the categories where I’d hold off:
Prime Day vs. Black Friday vs. October Prime Big Deal Days
Amazon runs three big sales a year now, and they’re good for different things. Here’s the cheat sheet:
The rule of thumb: buy Amazon’s own gadgets, smart-home gear and summer items on Prime Day; buy premium TVs, big appliances and laptops on Black Friday; and use the October Prime Big Deal Days to knock out your holiday gift list early. Amazon hasn’t announced the October 2026 dates yet — I’ll add them here the moment they do.
Is Prime Day 2026 worth it?
Honestly? Yes — *if* you go in with a list. Prime Day is genuinely the best price of the year on Amazon devices, smart-home gear, robot vacuums and a lot of kitchen and home items. If any of those are on your radar, it’s absolutely worth shopping.
Where people get burned is buying things they didn’t need just because there’s a red SALE tag. Not every “deal” is a real low — some prices get quietly nudged up beforehand. My advice: make a wishlist now, jot down what you’d happily pay, and only buy when the Prime Day price actually beats it. A free price-tracker like CamelCamelCamel will show you whether a price is truly the lowest it’s been.
Do you need Amazon Prime to shop Prime Day?
Yes — the headline Prime Day deals are members-only. But you don’t have to pay for a year to get in: a free 30-day Prime trial gets you full access, and you can cancel before it renews so you’re never charged. Prime is $14.99/month or $139/year; there’s also a discounted Prime for Young Adults plan (ages 18–24) and Prime Access for those on qualifying assistance. A handful of the early device deals are open to everyone, Prime or not.
What’s the catch with the free trial?
Just one: the trial auto-renews into a paid membership if you forget to cancel. Set a reminder on your phone for day 29 and you’re fine. You keep every Prime Day order you placed.
How to prepare for Prime Day 2026: a simple checklist
A little prep is the difference between grabbing the deal and watching it sell out. Here’s exactly what I do in the days before:
- ✓Activate Prime (or start a free 30-day trial timed to cover June 23–26).
- ✓Install the Amazon Shopping app — you’ll see Lightning Deals early and can check out faster than anyone on a laptop.
- ✓Build a wishlist now so you can watch prices drop and pounce the moment a deal hits.
- ✓Decide your price for each item — write down what you’d happily pay, and a free tracker like CamelCamelCamel will tell you if the Prime Day price is a real low.
- ✓Turn on deal alerts (or let Alexa for Shopping watch a price for you) so you don’t have to keep refreshing.
- ✓Bookmark this page — I update it daily with new deals and leaks right up to June 23.
New for 2026: let Amazon’s AI watch the deals for you
This is the first Prime Day where Amazon’s shopping assistant is genuinely useful. Amazon merged its Rufus helper into Alexa for Shopping in May 2026, and it can now do a few things that are perfect for a sale like this:
- Track a price for you — ask it to watch an item and it’ll alert you (and show you the 30- and 90-day price history) so you know if a Prime Day price is actually a deal.
- Buy at your target price — you can tell it the price you’re willing to pay and let it grab the item automatically if it drops there during the sale.
- Build your cart from a list — you can even snap a photo of a handwritten shopping list and have it find the items.
You don’t need any of this to shop Prime Day — but if you hate refreshing pages, it’s a nice way to let the deals come to you.

Prime Day 2026 FAQ
When is Amazon Prime Day 2026?
Amazon Prime Day 2026 runs from Tuesday, June 23 through Friday, June 26, 2026 — a four-day event. It starts at 12:01 a.m. PT (3:01 a.m. ET) on June 23. This year’s sale is in June rather than the usual July because Amazon moved it ahead of the World Cup and the July 4th 250th-anniversary weekend.
What time does Prime Day 2026 start?
Prime Day 2026 begins at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on Tuesday, June 23, which is 3:01 a.m. Eastern Time. The very best Lightning Deals tend to go live in the first hours and can sell out quickly, so it’s worth checking early on day one rather than waiting.
Do you need Amazon Prime to shop Prime Day 2026?
Yes — the main Prime Day deals are exclusive to Prime members. But you can sign up for a free 30-day Prime trial, shop all the deals, and cancel before it renews so you’re never charged. Prime is $14.99/month or $139/year. A few early device deals are open to everyone, Prime or not.
Are early Prime Day deals as good as the real thing?
Often, yes. Amazon and the big brands drop early Prime Day deals in the weeks before the event, and many of them are already at or near the lowest price they’ll hit on the 23rd — especially Amazon devices and popular brand items. If you see an early deal at a price you’re happy with, there’s usually no reason to wait and risk it selling out.
What are the best things to buy on Prime Day 2026?
The strongest categories are Amazon’s own devices (Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, Ring, Blink), robot and cordless vacuums, kitchen gadgets (air fryers, coffee makers, Instant Pots), smart-home gear, Lego and toys, and household essentials. Skip premium TVs, large appliances and high-end laptops — those are usually cheaper on Black Friday.
Is Prime Day 2026 worth it?
It’s worth it if you shop with a plan. Prime Day is the best price of the year on Amazon devices, smart home, vacuums and a lot of home and kitchen items. The trap is impulse-buying things you don’t need — so make a wishlist, decide what you’d pay, and use a price tracker to make sure a ‘deal’ is actually a low. For premium TVs and big appliances, wait for Black Friday.
Is Prime Day better than Black Friday?
It depends what you’re buying. Prime Day is better for Amazon devices, smart-home gear, robot vacuums and summer items. Black Friday is better for premium TVs, large appliances, laptops and game consoles. Prime Day is members-only; Black Friday is open to everyone. Many shoppers use both — grab Amazon gear now and save the big-ticket electronics for November.
What is the Amazon Resale Prime Day deal?
Amazon Resale (formerly Amazon Warehouse) sells inspected open-box and used items at a discount. Around Prime Day, Amazon adds an extra discount — up to about 20% off — on select Resale items, applied automatically at checkout with no code needed. Condition is noted on each product page, and it’s a good way to save on top of an already-reduced price.
How long does Prime Day 2026 last?
Four days — from Tuesday, June 23 through Friday, June 26, 2026. That’s longer than the old two-day format, but individual Lightning Deals are time-limited (usually a few hours, or until they sell out), so the deepest deals don’t last the whole event.
Will there be another Prime Day in 2026 (Prime Big Deal Days)?
Almost certainly. In addition to June’s Prime Day, Amazon usually holds a second members-only sale — Prime Big Deal Days — in October to kick off holiday shopping. Amazon hasn’t confirmed the October 2026 dates yet; I’ll post them here as soon as they’re announced.
